Previous to this Katie spent two years at the National Gallery, one of the world’s leading galleries, working in the Press Office promoting exhibitions such as Raphael and Caravaggio. Katie worked on a number of key press initiatives promoting the permanent collection within the national and international press, including magazines, television, radio and the Internet, ranging from the South Bank Show to Cbeebies and on projects such as the Power of Art and Radio 4’s Today Programme. Jim Brewster - Strategic Development ManagerJim started working on audience engagement and participation in public libraries and then went on to work on a two year project to develop a strategic approach to marketing for MLA South East in partnership with amh, the Winchester based arts marketing agency. The project researched the needs of the sector, developed a planning framework to meet those needs and piloted the use of the framework with seven organisations in the South East. The project enjoyed a third year of funding for which time Jim joined amh and was able to deploy what he’d learnt through delivering that project to a wider client base. This combined experience has enabled Jim to develop a skills set which includes marketing planning, data management and analysis, training and facilitation. Whilst Jim has large soft spots for music, visual arts and cinema, his truelove, in cultural terms, is reading. He also enjoys cooking and eating and throws in a bit of sport just to 'balance all that aesthetic stuff with some less cerebral ‘downtime’'. On his new role at Audiences South West Jim commented, 'I’m delighted to be joining the Audiences South West team and am really looking forward to working with many of the organisations that make the cultural sector in the South West so vibrant and exciting.'
